Kesatuan Ragbi Selangor (KRS) President Raimi Yusof is very positive about the development of rugby in the state. He mentioned this through the quarterly KRS newsletter featuring their past year’s activities and planned program for the year ahed.
One of the changes, among all others, is the different approach to be taken by KRS for its flagship league. KRS League 2019 will be used as a platform for the selection of players for Agong’s Cup Selangor team.
KRS wants to put “quality before quantity” in terms of its play in the league, in bringing more values to the sport and increase Selangor’s competitiveness at national scale.
Mentioning about 2019 program, KRS shall focus on development activities which include “Get Into Rugby”, Upgrade on Capacity Building for coaches and referees through various courses, organizing tournaments and creating a pool of rugby talents to compete representing Selangor in various categories.
With a more structured and organized plans, KRS hopes more clubs to become its affiliates and hence, creating a dynamic and vibrant rugby scene in the state.
