Nigel Owens Undur Diri Dari Arena Antarabangsa

Dua perlawanan berlangsung semalam menyaksikan pertembungan Maori All Blacks bertemu Moana Pasifika manakala Los Pumas turun menentang Wallabies pada perlawanan terakhir Tri Nations 2020

Setelah melibatkan diri sebagai pengadil selama 17 tahun, Nigel Owens mengumumkan untuk mengundur diri daripada arena ragbi antarabangsa.

Sepanjang kariernya sebagai pegawai perlawanan (match official) Owens sentiasa menunjukkan karisma tersendiri dan mendapat kepercayaan untuk mengadili perlawanan berprofil tinggi yang memerlukan ketepatan dan kejituan dalam setiap keputusan.

Kemuncak karier Owens ialah pada final RWC 2015 antara New Zealand dan Australia di Twickenham yang mana selepas itu menyaksikan beliau dinobatkan sebagai penerima Anugerah Pengadil World Rugby.

Antara kata-kata Owens yang akan sentiasa diingati

28 November 2020 menjadi detik bersejarah buat dunia ragbi antarabangsa apabila perlawanan Autumn Cup 2020 di antara Perancis dan Itali menjadi perlawanan ke-100 diadili Owens.

Menurut Owens, meskipun tidak lagi mengadili perlawanan antarabangsa, beliau akan melibatkan diri dalam kepengadilan di peringkat sekolah, kelab serta komuniti sebagai sumbangannya terhadap pembangunan sukan dicintainya itu.

Sepanjang 17 tahun karier Owens sebagai Match Official, World Rugby mengeluarkan statistik pengadilan beliau khas buat peminat ragbi seluruh dunia.
